The welfare and quality of the animals and meat is top of their agenda and all meat is prepared in their shop at Caradon Town surrounded by breathtaking countryside.
They deal in only locally sourced, succulent, farm assured meats ensuring their products sre of the highest quality. All meat is prepared using traditional butchery methods and beef is matured for over 21 days to ensure you get the most tender steaks and joints possible.
Mainly British native breeds of beef are chosen, such as South Devon, Aberdean Angus and Herefored, they thrive on the local moorland slopes on a predominantly grass diet. They provide a completely naturally reared product, with total traceability from farm to plate.
If you prefer lean meat packed with a rich flavour, try their venison or game. All their venison is wild and taken from the local countryside. The animals have led a stress-free and active life, which makes for more tender meat. As well as wild venison, wild boar, pheasant, partridge, pigeon, rabbit and guinea fowl are all on offer.
Grass fed lamb is so succulent and sweet that they guarantee you’ve never tasted lamb like it. It is supplied by a multiple of local farms and matured for -2 weeks to really bring out the full flavour.
Using only female pigs from a local farm famous for its cheese, the pigs are fed on a rich diet of whey, which gives them a distinct, mouthwatering flavour.
Poultry too is of the highest quality, not intensively farmed but range free in small flocks in barns to reduce stress and competition, this produces a happier, better tasting chicken. The finest free range duck, turkey and geese are also available.
